arnold economic development
The Arnold Economic Development Corporation put this web site together because we love our little town, and we don’t want to lose it. The odds are long, and we may be fools for the effort, but we have decided that we will work to save our school and our community rather than going our merry way while merely hoping that someone or somebody or some magical something somewhere will do it for us. We may fail, but we won’t fail without a fight. The news is good. You know how it goes. Somebody does something. Somebody else notices. Others say, “That’s good. I wonder…” And before you know it you have a spanking new community center, all paid for. One day over coffee a group wonders how we can do more. They hire a lawyer, tap into state and regional resources, form a corporation having 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, and hire a bright and talented director of economic development. Despite busy lives of their own, the board keeps working for not just a better future but more immediately for a future of any kind that keeps us on the map. Come to Arnold. We are Growing Great Things. Be our ambassador. Spread the word. Ask the kids to come live back home. Tell the pharmacist; the nearly-but-not-quite-ready-to-retire attorney; the baker; the artist seeking nature’s inspiration; the young man who dreams of horses, cows, and corn; the woman wanting a safe and healthy place for herself or her children—tell ’em all about Arnold.
